Forums Focus: A weekly blog to enlighten, encourage and equip Christian business leaders to lead in business using Biblical Business Principles.

Biblical Business Principles – Last week we focused on the Christmas Story from a business perspective. As you enter 2012, how will you keep from missing what God is doing in your midst?

This week we will focus on how doctrine matters in all of life including business. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJ
Can anything be better for your business success in 2012 than to be in alignment with God’s ways and truths as given in Scripture?

Doctrine can be defined as what we believe about something and how we will proceed in following a course of action. The Bible provides “profitable” information for our doctrine. In modern terms our business doctrine includes our Mission, Vision, and Core Values statements. Do you have written Mission, Vision and Core Value statements for your business? Do they align with Scripture?

This passage tells us the Bible also provides reproof (shows us where we’ve gone off course), correction (how to get back on course), and instruction in doing right (how to stay on the right course).

The promise of this passage is that we will be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work! As you close out 2011 and prepare for 2012, take some time to examine your Mission, Vision and Core Value statements. Is what you state about your business inline with Scripture?

Bit of Wisdom
Study this Book of the Law continually. Meditate on it day and night so you may be sure to obey all that is written in it. Only then will you succeed. Joshua 1:8 NLT
