Forums Focus: A weekly blog to enlighten, encourage and equip Christian business leaders to lead in business using Biblical Business Principles.

Biblical Business Principles – Last week we focused on Influencing. How effective is your influence for God with the people with whom you interface in your business?

This week we will focus on G2G (Glory to God).  Do you glorify God through your business?  How?

To glorify God is to extol His attributes, which includes His holiness, faithfulness, mercy, grace, love, majesty, sovereignty, power, and omniscience; focusing on these attributes and telling others about them.  O nations of the world, recognize the Lord, recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong. Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his presence. Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor. 1 Chronicles 16:28-29 NLT

How do you glorify God through your business day?  The LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, says: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is good and leads you along the paths you should follow. Isaiah 48:17 NLT  The Lord our God teaches us what is good AND leads us along the paths we should follow.  Are you continuing your education on Biblical Business Principles?  Do you operate your business by The Book by integrating Biblical Business Principles?  Do you listen to the Holy Spirit who will always lead in accordance with God’s written Word.  What is your continuing education plan?  How tuned to the Spirit’s leading are you?

God has given gifts to each of you from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Manage them well so that God’s generosity can flow through you. Are you called to be a speaker? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Are you called to help others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then God will be given glory in everything through Jesus Christ. All glory and power belong to him forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11 NLT  God is glorified when we use the gifts He has given us.  Since we spend the majority of our awake hours in business, we should seek to glorify God in our business.  What does glorifying God look like in your business?  Do you know what your spiritual gifts are?

Quoting the Business by The Book Workshop workbook – Christian business leaders try to build win-win relationships, not only because it is a good business practice, but because they sincerely care about other people.  It glorifies God and earns the right to introduce others to the Savior.

Bit of Wisdom

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice — the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask? Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is. Romans 12:1-2 NLT
