Forums Focus: A weekly blog to enlighten, encourage and equip Christian business leaders to lead in business using Biblical Business Principles.

Biblical Business Principles – Last week we focused on Three Business Leaders from the East. Are you being driven or are you being pulled?

This week we will focus on Transition. As you close out the calendar year and prepare to begin 2013, let’s examine some advice Paul wrote to the Thessalonians in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 NLT.

Always be joyful. Is there a difference between happiness and joy? Are you joyful in the midst trouble?

Keep on praying. How is your joy connected to prayer? Do you need to make any commitments with respect to prayer for 2013?

No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Is thankfulness an issue of emotions and feelings, or of the will? What happens when you do God’s will and will yourself to be thankful? Do you have an example from your business life in 2012?

Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit prompts you, are you quick or slow to respond?

Do not scoff at prophecies, but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. How do you test the things that are said about your business? How aligned are you to Biblical Business Principles? Is the Lord leading you to make any changes in 2013?

Keep away from every kind of evil. How do you know what evil is? What is your standard to define evil?

Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until that day when our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. Have you asked God to make you holy in every way? How would you live differently if you knew Jesus was returning in 2013?

God, who calls you, is faithful; he will do this. What a wonderful promise to claim for 2013!

Bit of Wisdom
But let us who live in the light think clearly, protected by the body armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. 1 Thessalonians 5:8 NLT
