Forums Focus: A weekly blog to enlighten, encourage and equip Christian business leaders to lead in business using Biblical Business Principles.

Biblical Business Principles – Last week we focused on Transition. As you begin 2013, how will it be different? What changes do you need to make?

This week we will focus on Taking Stock. Do you invest the time to know well the state of your business?

Know the state of your flocks, and put your heart into caring for your herds, for riches don’t last forever, and the crown might not be passed to the next generation. After the hay is harvested and the new crop appears and the mountain grasses are gathered in, your sheep will provide wool for clothing, and your goats will provide the price of a field. And you will have enough goats’ milk for yourself, your family, and your servant girls. Proverbs 27:23-27 NLT

Do you have a good handle on the current state of your business? Do you put your heart into caring for your business including the people involved in your business (employees, customers, suppliers, etc.)? Do you operate your business in accordance with Biblical Business Principles?

Like every good manufacturer does, God has provided a Manufacturer’s Handbook. Manufacturers know how to get the best performance from their products and services. This passage promises if we do our part in accordance with His ways, we will have our needs met. Have you found this to be true?

As you take stock of your business, what is God showing you that your plan for 2013 needs to include?

Beginning next week we will examine specific Biblical Business Principles to aid you in doing Business By The Book.

Bit of Wisdom
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:7-9 NLT
