Biblical Business Principles – Last week we focused on Honoring God. What is the value of publically stating your company honors God?

This week we will again focus on Honoring God. What are the ramifications of stating your company honors God?

Glory and honor to God forever and ever. He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:17 NLT Declaring we are honoring God is stating an eternal truth – God is and is worthy to be honored.

‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far away. Their worship is a farce, for they replace God’s commands with their own man-made teachings.’ Mark 7:7 NLT Jesus was referring to the Pharisees in this passage; we must be sure our stating we honor God it is more than lip service.

“I am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, and I was brought up and educated here in Jerusalem under Gamaliel. At his feet I learned to follow our Jewish laws and customs very carefully. I became very zealous to honor God in everything I did, just as all of you are today. And I persecuted the followers of the Way, hounding some to death, binding and delivering both men and women to prison.” Acts 22:3-4 NLT The Apostle Paul honored God zealously, but wrongly. We must do business by The Book as led by the Holy Spirit to truly honor God through our businesses.

Be careful how you live among your unbelieving neighbors. Even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will believe and give honor to God when he comes to judge the world. 1 Peter 2:12 NLT Keeping honoring God in front of ourselves reminds us to be honorable, which is a powerful witness.

Let the LORD’s people show him reverence, for those who honor him will have all they need. Psalm 34:9 NLT This is a wonderful promise of God, but we must Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything your land produces. Proverbs 3:9 NLT

A good, simple way to proclaim publically that you honor God through your business is to state something like – Our mission is to honor God by providing (your product / service), through trained and committed professionals, maintaining caring relationships and excellent service. This statement then becomes your commitment to God, to your employees, and to your customers.

Do you publically state you honor God through your business?

Bit of Wisdom
All honor to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for it is by his boundless mercy that God has given us the privilege of being born again. Now we live with a wonderful expectation because Jesus Christ rose again from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 NLT
