CBMC Forums Focus: A weekly blog to enlighten, encourage and equip Christian business leaders to lead in business using Biblical Business Principles.
Biblical Business Principles – Last week we focused on Leveraging Leadership II. Are you lightening your own leadership load by investing in leadership development for your people by identifying, developing and utilizing the people God has given you to carry out your business’s mission?
This week we will focus on the Thanks Index. Thanksgiving is a good time to check on your level of thankfulness. Are you a thankful person?
No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT Being thankful is God’s will, and a choice that when repeated becomes a habit. On a scale of 1 – 10, how thankful are you? At work? At home? In society?
Thankfulness leads to joy.
Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything. James 1:2-4 NLT When a business problem seems to be mostly bad do you give thanks for the real or potential good in it, and do you have joy? Now, considering the result of thanks giving is joy, what is your thanks index?
Praying you have a Blessed Thanksgiving as you give thanks to God and people!
Bit of Wisdom
If you need wisdom — if you want to know what God wants you to do — ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. They can’t make up their minds. They waver back and forth in everything they do. James 1: 5-8 NLT
