CBMC Forums Focus: A weekly blog to enlighten, encourage and equip Christian business leaders to lead in business using Biblical Business Principles.

Biblical Business Principles – Last week we focused on Business Excellence. What does excellence look like in your business? Is there a need for more excellence in your business?

This week we will focus on Planning. How much planning do you do in your business?

Planning takes in past history while looking at the present situation to set direction for future actions. Planning for the future is how we make the present better when tomorrow becomes today.

Planning helps us act instead of reacting. Yet there is an element of guess work in planning since we can’t really see the future.

“Destruction is certain for my rebellious children,” says the LORD. “You make plans that are contrary to my will. You weave a web of plans that are not from my Spirit, thus piling up your sins. For without consulting me, you have gone down to Egypt to find help. You have put your trust in Pharaoh for his protection. Isaiah 30:1-2 NLT The leaders of Israel had developed plans, but they failed to include the most important factor – the LORD. How do you assure your plans are not contrary to the LORD’s will? That they are from the LORD’s Spirit? How much time do you invest consulting with the LORD about your plans? How much effort do you expend searching the Scriptures to assure your plans align with God’s revealed will?

Do your plans reflect a dependence on God? When others read your plans will they see this dependence?

Bit of Wisdom
We can gather our thoughts, but the LORD gives the right answer. People may be pure in their own eyes, but the LORD examines their motives. Commit your work to the LORD, and then your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:1-3 NLT
