Biblical Business Principle
Last week we focused on Closing a Sale – OFFER A GUARANTEE. As you present your products / services, ideas, and the Gospel, do you have a guarantee built into your proposal and stress the benefit?
This week we will focus on Which Master. What role does money play for you in your business?
Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24 NLT Jesus often used extremes in His teaching, in this case contrasting love and hate. If we don’t pay attention to the money in business we will most likely fail. On the other hand, if we pay too much attention to the money it becomes our master. God or money, which is your master? Hopefully you said God! How do you know? Invest some time with God asking Him for His evaluation. Ask your spouse. Ask a trusted person in your business.
In Matthew 6:19-21 NLT Jesus said, “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where they can be eaten by moths and get rusty, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where they will never become moth-eaten or rusty and where they will be safe from thieves. Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be.” What does this passage say to you? What do you treasure most? God or money? Your heart will follow your treasure. Where do you find your heart and thoughts?
Bit of Wisdom
“Your eye is a lamp for your body. A pure eye lets sunshine into your soul. But an evil eye shuts out the light and plunges you into darkness. If the light you think you have is really darkness, how deep that darkness will be!” Matthew 6:22-23 NLT
