CBMC Forums Focus: A weekly blog to enlighten, encourage and equip Christian business leaders to lead in business using Biblical Business Principles.
Biblical Business Principle
Last week we focused on Purpose. Is your purpose clear and in line with your call?
This week we will focus on Goals and Schedule. Do you have clear goals for 2015 that put feet to your purpose? Have you moved your goals to your schedule?
So I run straight to the goal with purpose in every step. I am not like a boxer who misses his punches. 1 Corinthians 9:26 NLT While a purpose statement clarifies why you’re in business and the products or services with which you serve your customers; having clear purpose also motivates as you work toward accomplishing your goals when you know it’s God’s will for you.
Have you also noticed, getting your goals into your schedule increases the likelihood your goals will be accomplished? Even when you have to reschedule several times because the time needed got crowded out by other unscheduled activities?
Look here, you people who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” How do you know what will happen tomorrow? For your life is like the morning fog — it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” Otherwise you will be boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil. Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it. James 4:13-17 NLT James reminds us our goals must be in line with God’s will. Is it a sin to plan without God?
