Biblical Business Principle
Last time we focused on Inspection. Why do people do what we inspect more than what we expect? Are inspections a built in part of your process of delivering products / services to your customers?
This week we will focus on Keeping Promises. Are you a person of your word? Do you promise more than you will deliver?
A person who promises a gift but doesn’t give it is like clouds and wind that bring no rain. Proverbs 25:14 NLT While delivering a product / service is not a gift, if it is not delivered as promised it is like the cloud that brings no rain. Does your business deliver as promised?
Good people are guided by their honesty; treacherous people are destroyed by their dishonesty. Proverbs 11:3 NLT Having a commitment to always being 100% honest will guide you even when human logic says cut the corner. Do you cut corners when you realize you under estimated, or is your word your bond?
Because of this, I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and everyone else. Acts 24:16 NLT While the context of this verse is not business, it is a good reminder to maintain a clear conscience before God and everyone else. We know we can’t hide from our all-knowing God so why does the Scripture add and before everyone else?
We can say with confidence and a clear conscience that we have been honest and sincere in all our dealings. We have depended on God’s grace, not on our own earthly wisdom. That is how we have acted toward everyone, and especially toward you. 2 Corinthians 1:12 NLT Is your God big enough to compensate you if you maintain 100% honesty in a business deal that isn’t working as you initially planned?
Bit of Wisdom
Blessed are those who have a tender conscience, but the stubborn are headed for serious trouble. Proverbs 28:14 NLT
