CBMC Forums Focus: A weekly blog to enlighten, encourage and equip Christian business leaders to lead in business using Biblical Business Principles.

Biblical Business Principle

Last week we focused on Accurate Weights.  Do you assure your customers are getting the full amount they expect they are receiving?

This week we will focus on Future Plans.  Are you completely satisfied with how things are going in your business at the present?  Where do you want to be in 10 years?  5 years? 1 Year?  How will you get there?

How do you make your dreams about the future become plans and ultimately reality?

Are your dreams / plans big enough to require God to act, or are they small enough that you can work it out on your own without God’s help?  Are your dreams / plans causing you to pray much, on your knees?

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.  In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me. Jeremiah 29:11-13 NLT  While the context of this passage is the Israelites in Babylon, can the truth of this passage be applied to business today?  Reread the passage and let the Holy Spirit make His impressions on your mind, and your emotions, and your will.

Commit your work to the LORD, and then your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3 NLT  If it is against God’s revealed will, stop!  If it is not against God’s revealed will, is it His will?  Ask Him.

Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many counselors bring success. Proverbs 15:22 NLT  God instructs us to discuss our plans with Him in prayer, AND discuss our plans with other humans.  Do you have some trusted counselors?

You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail. Proverbs 19:21 NLT  How do you keep God’s purpose at the forefront as you plan for the future?

Bit of Wisdom

We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9 NLT
