CBMC Forums Focus: A weekly blog to enlighten, encourage and equip Christian business leaders to lead in business using Biblical Business Principles.
Biblical Business Principle
Last week we focused on Hiring Key People. Are your key people representing you well?
This week we will focus on Representative Priorities. Who do you represent well? Your company? Your self? Your employees? God?
We are representing God 24/7 no matter where we are or what we’re doing. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT As CBMC’s Marketplace Ambassador literature says – are you an equipped ambassador with a message for the people, or a tourist enjoying the scenery?
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16 NLT Ponder that in you is where God lives, His Spirit is in you! How do you keep this fact to the forefront in your daily business life?
We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 1 Corinthians 2:12 NLT We will only be ambassadors for Christ as we follow the Spirit’s leading. Are you following the Spirit’s leading as you represent God; then your company, your employees, yourself?
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:3-4 NLT Are you experiencing JOY in business through keeping your representative priorities – Jesus Others Yourself?
Bit of Wisdom
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:17, 23-24 NLT
