Forums Focus: A weekly blog to enlighten, encourage and equip Christian business leaders to lead in business using Biblical Business Principles.
Biblical Business Principle
Last time we focused on Representing. Are you an Ambassador for Christ in your work life?
This week we will focus on Overcoming Blind Spots. Mirrors on our cars attempt to eliminate blind spots. We know blind spots exist and drive more carefully because of this knowledge. In business we can have blind spots, too. What precautions do you take in business to avoid problems because of your blind spots?
The following passages give some insights on avoiding blind spots.
We can make our own plans, but the LORD gives the right answer. Proverbs 16:1 NLT
We need to search the Bible to assure our plans align with His truths. We need to discuss (pray) our plans with the Lord, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. We usually think the plans we come up with are good, until they turn out not to be as good as we envisioned. Are you investing time in His Word and praying to the One who can give you the right answer?
People may be pure in their own eyes, but the LORD examines their motives. Proverbs 16:2 NLT
We usually think our motives are pure. As you pray do you make Psalm 139:23-24 part of your prayer? Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. NLT
Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success. Proverbs 15:22 NLT
Seeking counsel from others can help avoid problems from blind spots. Do you make it a practice to seek advice from others?
The key to preventing blind spot problems in business and all of life is time with God in His Word and prayer, and seeking and listening to the advice of others. Are you taking precautions to avoid problems from blind spots?
Bit of Wisdom
Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3 NLT
