Forums Focus: A weekly blog to enlighten, encourage and equip Christian business leaders to lead in business using Biblical Business Principles.

Biblical Business Principle

Last time we focused on Rejoice at Work.  Do you thank God, not just in bad circumstances, but for them, because they can create opportunities to represent Christ.

This week we will focus on Representing.  What or who are you representing most in your business?  Your products / services?  Yourself?  God?

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 NLT

Are you being an effective Ambassador for Christ through your work? (Where we spend the majority of our awake hours.)  As this passage informs us, as a new person, with a new life, which is a gift from God; the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe has given us a task – share the message of reconciliation.  He has sent us into our spheres of influence to represent Him.  He is in us, running His Earth using us as we provide products / services to meet people’s needs, and to spread the message of reconciliation.  As you provide products / services with excellence, people are more open to hear you as you share the message of reconciliation.

Bit of Wisdom

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” Romans 1:17-17 NLT
